It’s often the case that our clients choose Vistafolia because it improves the view, either in the garden or out on the terrace, or sometimes in an indoor space. However, when the client already has a beautiful view out over the city but wants a little bit more privacy, it’s time to get creative and in this case it takes the form of the creation of an artificial roof garden.
This terrace in Edinburgh already had the advantage of a stunning backdrop, but was overlooked by other properties. A Vistafolia green wall was sought as the ideal solution to fix this, but what about the existing view? Because our green wall panels can be cut to virtually any size, the answer to this was leaving a viewing slot within the green wall, giving the client the best of both worlds. The whole concept was designed and installed by RFP gardens, regular collaborators on Vistafolia artificial green wall projects.
A real living wall wouldn’t have been the right product to use here. The windy conditions, coupled with low-levels of natural sunlight would have made it very tricky for plants to thrive. Conversely, a Vistafolia green wall doesn’t need any looking after and will stay looking its best for years to come, even in tricky conditions like roof terraces. And because our panels are lightweight by design, there are rarely concerns about overwhelming structures that might otherwise have needed strengthening.
Also included in the mix were artificial plants from Vistafolia’s range, creating long lasting, no-maintenance features to further improve the view.
