For this project in Virginia Beach, Sentara Healthcare needed something eye-catching for its patients to enjoy on one of the outer walls of the facility. Biophilic design was important to them, but the prospect of a living green wall just didn’t sell it to them. They had concerns about the amount of maintenance that would be required, as well as the ongoing cost for this and water usage.
As part of the design it was decided that one large faux green wall might be excessive. And so, these attractive metal panels were alternated with green wall panels to create a different and fun display. Now, patients to the facility are greeted upon arrival and are instantly made to feel better.
