Green Wall Designer
This green wall design installation at a care home in the heart of Devon encapsulates so many of the things that Vistafolia® is proud to offer – affordable transformative products, innovative design solutions and striking results. The green wall, installed as part of a design by McGregor Smith Landscape Architects (an award winning landscape architecture practice located in Bath, a World Heritage Site) adds a beautifully realistic feature to an otherwise uninspiring brick space.
And while plants can have a soothing effect on those around them, it is a give and take relationship, especially where real green walls are concerned: the lack of sunlight can be prohibitive to growth, and the ongoing maintenance can prove to be laborious. Step forward Vistafolia®, with a maintenance-free solution that gives all the beauty and natural feel of a real green wall, but without the hassle.
Solution
For this green wall design project, the panels couldn’t be directly installed directly on to the brickwork, but our technical department were able to advise on a specification for a purpose-built, free-standing metal planter frame to house the artificial green panels, with a lovely cedar panel finish. This lightweight build allowed for an effortless install of the panels, with a great looking, low-maintenance solution that doesn’t interfere with the structure of the building. And because the panels are so easy to install, the whole installation was completed in just one day.
To ensure a bold, textured finish, our lush green colour boxes were utilised, adding extra ferns and grasses to the wall for increased realism and depth. The stunning finish left the client with a great visual centrepiece for the care home residents to relax in and enjoy, without the burden of it requiring constant attention and maintenance to keep it looking fantastic.
